As a therapist, Abbey uses a warm, relational approach, with an understanding that each person is the expert in their own life. She is passionate about creating a non-judgmental space to support children, adolescents, and adults. Working eclectically from a psychodynamic foundation, she draws on techniques from parts-work, narrative therapy, and art-based therapies to help individuals and families navigate life transitions, explore feelings and past experiences, and encourage growth. Abbey believes that play is the language of children and joyfully utilizes play therapy in her work with them to nurture insight and understanding. There are no wrong feelings, and she revels in supporting children in identifying and expressing their emotions, giving them tools to do so in a safe way.​

Abbey, a Licensed Master Social Worker, received their Master’s in Social Work from Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College in 2026. Before entering private practice, they worked with children and parents at Q300, an elementary school located in Astoria. There she saw first-hand the therapeutic effectiveness of play and became well-versed in the inner workings of the school system. She strengthened her capacity for attunement, active listening, and being with the child in their experience. A naturally playful and creative person, she utilized drawing, music, puppet play, and movement in her work with the students.
